Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Mongolia-EU relations and cooperation have leveled up thanks to its intensification, said J.Erdenebat, the Prime Minister of Mongolia, when he met with Jean-Claude Juncker, the President of the European Commission (EC), who is visiting here to take part in the 11th ASEM Summit.

He thanked the EC President for rendering support to Mongolia in hosting the ASEM Summit and for visiting Mongolia.

Expressing his satisfaction with the EU tariff concessions which included Mongolia, the Premier emphasized Mongolia needs to introduce European technologies in the processing industries, to fully exploit the tariff advantage from EU for supplying agricultural products meeting international standard to the European market and to abolish dependence of the Mongolian economy on the mining industry . Then he asked the EC President to collaborate with Mongolia in these matters.

Congratulating J.Erdenebat on becoming the Prime Minister of Mongolia, Jean-Claude Juncker pointed out that he is visiting Mongolia for the third time. He pledged to focus his attention to expanding the Mongolia-EU cooperation and augmenting the trade turnover.

The Prime Minister underlined importance of opening the EU’s diplomatic mission in Mongolia for boosting the bilateral relations and cooperation.

The EU side responded that there is no political issue  hindering the opening the diplomatic mission in Mongolia, but financial and budgetary limits. The EC President said he will pay attention to achieving this goal.
