Head of Cabinet Secretariat meets Chinese investors

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Head of Cabinet Secretariat and Investor Protection Council of Mongolia J.Munkhbat informed that a procedure to settle the complaints and applications submitted by investors was being drafted.

On August 28, he met with representatives of Chinese businesses operating in Mongolia to brief about the council’s actions directed at protecting the rights of investors. He also highlighted the recently observed positive indicators in the economy such as the 5.3 percent growth in the first half of 2017, and increasing trust of investors.

The Head of Cabinet Secretariat also reiterated the Mongolian Government’s commitment to intensify the strategic partnership with the People’s Republic of China, correlate the ‘Development Road’ and ‘Belt and Road’ initiatives, and put the projects and programs under ‘Mongolia-China-Russia Economic Corridor’ into action.  

The Chinese investors touched upon issues such as instability in investment environment, clash between some laws and regulations, bureaucracy of public organizations and difficulties in acquiring permission for labor.

The meeting was the first of a series of meetings the Investor Protection Council is planning to hold with foreign diplomatic missions in Mongolia.
