Minister of Road and Transport Development meets railway policy officials

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Minister of Road and Transport Development J.Bat-Erdene met Tuesday officials in responsible for railroad policy to discuss current issues and gave directions.

B.Artur, Head of Railway and Maritime Transport Policy Implementation and Coordination Department, talked about the current situation of Mongolian railway and maritime sectors. 



According to B.Artur's presentation, a total of 1,922 km long railways operate in the country, employing around 15,000 people. Besides it, Mongolia is ranked 20th with the total length of railroad in the world and 15th with the amount of transported cargos from the 28 members of the Organization for Cooperation of Railways.

The presentation was attended by representatives of Mongolian Railway JSC, Ulaanbaatar Railway JSC, Maritime Administration, Regional Logistics Development Project and Railway Traffic Control Center SOE.
