Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Minister of Environment and Tourism N.Tserenbat met Sultan bin Salmeen Al Mansouri, Concurrent Ambassador of the State of Qatar to Mongolia, on October 31.

They shared views on the interest of both sides to cooperate in safeguarding endangered species and plants and on developing tourism.

“Mongolia encounters problems to restore lands that deteriorated and suffered desertification. We consider that effective solution to this problem is to introduce know-how of planting native trees of Mongolia and water-saving latest techniques and technology,” N.Tserenbat said.

The Minister requested the Ambassador to pay attention on commencing bilateral talks to cooperate for this field, and expressed an agreement with a proposal of Qatar’s side on establishing an intergovernmental memorandum to develop cooperation in tourism sector.

"Mongolian side will focus on intensifying actions of an intergovernmental commission in order to put Mongolia-Qatar intergovernmental agreement on Economic and Technical Cooperation into implementation," he added.
