JICA to support NEMA's fire fighting efforts

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME / The Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) handed over firefighting equipment to National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) on October 31.

The equipment was granted in scope of the 'Follow-Up Cooperation on the Project for Improvement of Fire Fighting Equipment and Maintenance Workshop'.
 
The purpose of the project is to improve the function of fire-fighting vehicles which were granted in the "Project for Improvement of Fire Fighting Equipment and Maintenance Workshop" (2001). In the follow-up cooperation, the spare parts urgently needed for pumper trucks, water tanks, floodlight vehicles, fire ladder trucks are granted to Government of Mongolia.

On the day, the equipment for pumper trucks, water tanks and floodlight vehicles were handed over to Emergency Management Department of the Capital City. The rest of the spare parts, including those for fire ladder trucks, will be delivered to the Government of Mongolia in the end of November. The handover ceremony is scheduled to be held in early December.
