Mongolians called on to join Tokyo 2020 initiative to make Olympic medals with old electronic devices

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Mongolian delegates led by J.Batbayasgalan, Deputy Mayor of Ulaanbaatar in charge of Green Development and Air Pollution are attending in Tokyo Forum for ‘Clean city & Clear sky’ and they expressed to join the Tokyo 2020 initiative to recycle broken phones and electronic devices and turn them into medals for the Olympic Games, calling on Mongolian citizens to join as well.
 
The delegates have met Tokyo Mayor Yuriko Koike. In scope of the initiative, special boxes for collecting old mobile phones and electronic devices were put in 2400 sites throughout Japan. 
 
40 kg of gold, 2930 kg of silver and 2994 kg of bronze are required to make 5000 medals for the Olympic and Paralympic Games, reported Press and Public Relations Department of Ulaanbaatar City Governor’s Office.
