Partnership with Denver city to be further developed

Dornogobi /MONTSAME/. At the invitation of the Vice President of Denver Zoological Foundation Graeme Patterson, Governor of Dornogobi aimag T.Enkhtuvshin, Chairman of the Citizens’ Representative Khural of the aimag S.Tumenbayar and officials of Ikh Nart Nature Reserve visited Denver, USA. In partnership with the Denver Zoological Foundation, the Mongolian Academy of Sciences has been implementing a long-term project at the nature reserve since 2001.


A number of projects and programmes are being successfully implemented at Ikh Nart to protect the untouched habitat from the negative effects of mining and human activities. Established in 2013, the nature reserve receives funding from the local governing body and MNT 43 million was budgeted for 2019.


The sides discussed continuing to implement the long-term projects being implemented by the Denver Zoological Foundation, promoting the project in Mongolia and implementing it as a model project.
