Twenty individuals to study in Japan with scholarship

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ On June 11, Minister of Finance Ch.Khurelbaatar, Ambassador of Japan to Mongolia Masato Takaoka, and JICA Mongolia Office’s Chief Representative Eriko Tamura signed an exchange of notes and non-refundable aid agreement for the JPY 309 million-worth Human Resource Development Program to be implemented with funding from the Government of Japan.

Aimed at encouraging human resource development of the countries with a transition economy, the program trains young public servants who will contribute to the country’s development.  

Within the non-refundable aid agreement, 18 public servants and two private sector employees will study in Master's and doctoral programs in Japan this year. Mongolia joined the program in 2001. Since then, 19 projects have been implemented and 340 people have studied in Japan so far.
