Minister Ch.Ulaan chairs sub-session of Agriculture Ministers’ Conference

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Minister of Food, Agriculture and Light Industry Ch.Ulaan is attending ‘Green Week’ international trade fair and Agriculture Ministers’ Conference 2020 in Berlin, Germany.


In frames of three-day Global Forum for Food and Agriculture 2020, the Agriculture Ministers’ Conference was held. The conference aimed to integrate issues and solutions which were discussed during the forum, reach a decision on further necessary actions to take as well as issue Joint Declaration of the Ministers of Agriculture.  


Minister Ch.Ulaan chaired sub-session of the conference for the first time representing Mongolia.



In his opening remarks, he highlighted contribution and significance of international trade in development of food and agriculture sector, employment, people’s livelihood and food safety alongside presenting Mongolia’s intention and policy on becoming largest exporting country using its rich resource in animal husbandry and crop farming.


Moreover, the Minister expressed his stance that developing countries are facing barriers in taking up their position in international market. Specifically, developed countries are setting non-tariff restrictions to developing countries in a way of creating high requirements and standards and it resulted unbalanced trade system and unbalanced trade turnover. Therefore, he stressed the necessity of rendering support to developing countries in this regard.
