President Kh.Battulga attends ‘Strategic Outlook: Eurasia’ panel discussion

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ A panel discussion on ‘Strategic Outlook: Eurasia’ was held as part of the World Economic Forum, which is being held in Davos, Switzerland.


The discussion was attended by President of Mongolia Kh.Battulga, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, Governor of Astana International Financial Centre Kairat Kelimbetov, Russian Banker L.Kostin, Director-General of the United Nations Office at Geneva Tatiana Valovaya and Dean of Blavatnik School of Government of University of Oxford Ngaire Woords.


In his opening remarks, President Kh.Battulga said “Mongolia actively takes part in Davos Economic Forum. Mongolia connects Eurasia between the two powerful countries China and Russia. Over the past 10 years, Mongolians built more than 6000 km of auto road and around 1000 km of railways. This infrastructure will contribute to the Eurasian economy greatly. Therefore, I wish you all to cooperate in developing infrastructure that will link Eurasia through Mongolia, a country in Central Asia.”


Furthermore, the participants had a discussion under the topic “What are the strategic priorities for the region in 2020?”
