Flights to and from ROK suspended

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. At its session held today, on February 24, State Emergency Commission made a decision to suspend flights to and from the Republic of Korea until March 2, reported the Minister of Transportation and Development B.Enkh-Amgalan.


According to Korean Center for Disease Control (KCDC) at 5 pm (GMT+9), novel coronavirus cases in the Republic of Korea were increased by 70 since 10 am today and reached 833. Therefore, the decision was made by the State Emergency Commission as the flights to and from the Republic of Korea considered risky. 18 scheduled flights of MIAT, Asiana and Korean Air until March 2 were cancelled. However, the transit flights will be regulated by the Incheon Airport.  


Of 3668 sold flight tickets to travel between Mongolia and the Republic of Korea, 2504 tickets were for the flights in route Mongolia and those tickets will be fully refunded due to aforementioned decision. The corresponding airline companies were charged to provide ticket buyers with an opportunity to travel after the suspension.
