PM: Mongolia will continue to work closely with ROK to repatriate its citizens

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. Prime Minister of Mongolia U.Khurelsukh received Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Korea to Mongolia Lee Yong-hun yesterday, August 13. 


At the beginning of the meeting, the Prime Minister expressed gratitude for the congratulatory letter received from Prime Minister of the Republic of Korea Chung Sye-kyun. He noted that this year marks the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries and expressed his desire to enrich ties and cooperation in trade and economic sphere and strengthen relations between the people of the two countries through “Mongolia-ROK Friendship Year”.


Expressing that Mongolia will continue to work closely with the ROK in the fight against the pandemic and repatriating its citizens, the Prime Minister asked the Ambassador to provide necessary support for Mongolian nationals living and working in the ROK.


The Ambassador congratulated the Prime Minister for his re-election and wished a success in his future endeavors. The Ambassador noted Mongolia’s rapid response to the COVID-19 pandemic and its successful measures taken in prevention of local transmission.


Moreover, the sides exchanged views on enabling mutual visa-free travel for the citizens and intensifying the realization of projects and programs aimed at reducing air pollution.
