160 new cases of COVID-19 registered

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. It was reported during today’s press briefing of the Ministry of Health that 160 new cases of COVID-19 detected after 24,482 tests performed nationwide in the past 24 hours. It means the highest number of cases within a day, since the first locally confirmed case was recorded.


141 of the cases were those who were close contacts of previously confirmed cases, while sources of 19 cases are under investigation.

 

As of today, the total cases of COVID-19 in Mongolia now stands at 4,658. In the past 24 hours, 84 people have been discharged from the hospital, bringing the total number of recoveries to 3,296.


Currently, there are 1,284 people who are diagnosed with the virus are undergoing treatment, of which 1,138 are in mild, 136 are in serious, seven are in critical and three are in very critical health condition.

 

Citizens were advised to wash their hands regularly, wear masks, keep distance, etc. as the number of COVID-19 cases in Mongolia is rapidly increasing.
