COVID-19: 2,771 new cases, 15 deaths reported

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. According to the Ministry of Health, 2,771 cases of COVID-19 and 15 deaths were recorded nationwide within the past 24 hours. In specific, 1,478 new cases were confirmed in the capital city, with 1,293 cases in all provinces.


As of today, the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Mongolia has reached 255,419. Currently, 21,579 people are receiving hospital treatment for COVID-19 in the capital city and provinces whilst 40,780 people with mild symptoms of COVID-19 are being isolated at home.


Of the total patients currently undergoing treatment at hospitals, there are 13,976 patients in mild, 5,666 in moderate, 1,666 in severe, and 271 in critical conditions. 


As of today, September 12, the coverage of first dose is 69.0 percent (2,246,353), second dose – 65.0 percent (2,113,605) of the total population of Mongolia. Currently, frontline workers and people aged above 55 are being vaccinated with the third dose of vaccine against coronavirus.
