Blue Pearl ice festival to take place for 21st year

Ulaanbaatar/MONTSAME/. The Blue Pearl annual ice festival will
be organized for the 21st year on March 2-5 in Khuvsgul aimag.
Aimed to promote winter tourism in Khuvsgul aimag, the
festival is one of the oldest events being traditionally held every year in the
country’s tourism industry.
People, who are interested in taking part in the festival, travel
a total of 2,000 km on the Ulaanbaatar-Darkhan-Erdenet-Bulgan-Murun-Khatgal
village-Khui Tolgoi route to get the destination. In recent years, the number
of interested participants has increased dramatically, reaching up to 15
thousand people, and the festival’s programs are being enriched with more interesting
events. The Blue Pearl festival features ice knuckle-bone shooting contest,
bicycle and ice skate races, moto sports performance, sled dog race, tug of
war, relay race, family contest, horse race, performance by the aimag’s musical
drama theater, and some ritualistic activities.
