Mongolian film council to cooperate with Hungarian national film institute

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ As part
of his visit to Hungary, on March 16, Deputy Minister of Culture M.Batbayar held
a meeting with Chairman of the National Film Institute (NFI) of Hungary Csaba
Káel and directors Ákos Pesti and Csaba Bereczki.
The sides exchanged views on ensuring
the implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in film
studios, film studies, and film production between the Ministry of Culture of
Mongolia and the Ministry of Human Resources of Hungary signed in February and carrying
out a feasibility study into establishing Mongolia’s first film studio that
meets international standards.
The Mongolian side also noted that
the government of Mongolia is planning to approve regulations and statute for the film
council of Mongolia and launch the council’s activities within April.
The leaders of NFI told the
Mongolian delegation about NFI and the country’s leading film studio, achievements
in Hungarian cinematography and legal framework for the film industry, especially
the favorable tax environment and special offers, expressing readiness to
provide consultancy to the Mongolian film council.
Moreover, during the working
visit, the Mongolian delegation led by the Deputy Minister of Culture visited Hungarian
film studios, Origo and Astra Film, and met with their directors and artists.
