Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. Today on May 9, Speaker of the State Great Khural G.Zandanshatar and MP, Chair of the Standing Committee on Innovation and Digital Policy N.Uchral obtained their personal electronic signatures. The parliament approved the amendments that were made to the Law on Electronic Signatures on December 17, 2021.

As the law came into effect from May 1, it has become possible for all of the country’s citizens above the age of 16 to obtain electronic signatures for a 5-year term.

Calling for active participation, the Speaker said, “Members of the parliament should lead in the measures being implemented to introduce electronic signatures into practice. By using the signatures, we will not only save money, but also time. This also makes it possible to obtain all types of public services from anywhere in the country.”

MP N.Uchral said, “At the Speaker’s initiative, we set an objective to make the parliament digital and become paperless. In its framework, we recently introduced the ‘D-Parliament’ electronic platform and application. Through the application, citizens can now participate in the law proposal process. The electronic signatures will make a significant contribution in ensuring this right.”

The General Authority for State Registration is currently ensuring preparations to introduce an application, which makes it possible to obtain an electronic signature through a smartphone, in June this year.
