Opportunities Emphasized for Developing Mutually Beneficial and Complementary Cooperation
PoliticsUlaanbaatar, July 10 /MONTSAME/. The Prime Minister of Mongolia L. Oyun-Erdene paid a
courtesy call on President of Kyrgyzstan S.N. Japarov, who is on the State Visit to Mongolia, on July
9.
Noting
the fact that Mongolia and Kyrgyzstan have been developing friendly relations
and stable cooperation over the past 30 years, Prime Minister L. Oyun-Erdene
testified his intention to intensify the cooperation, enriching bilateral
relations with trade and economic content.
The
Government of Mongolia is working on revising the "Investment Law" to
improve and stabilize the legal environment for investments, aligning it with
international standards. In this context, the Prime Minister highlighted the
ample opportunities to develop mutually beneficial and complementary
cooperation, particularly in agriculture, light industry, green development,
renewable energy, and the mining sector, leveraging the advantages and
potentials of both countries.
In order
to develop and expand mutually beneficial trade and economic cooperation
between the two countries, the parties agreed to support the export of goods
such as meat, meat products, and leather from Mongolia to Kyrgyzstan, and the
import of fruits, vegetables, and delicate vegetables from Kyrgyzstan at the
state policy level and cooperate in this matter. They also agreed to activate
ties and cooperation between veterinary hospitals and quarantine institutions.
Both
parties affirmed their willingness to intensify the activities of the
Mongolian-Kyrgyz Intergovernmental Commission on Trade, Economy, Science,
Technology, and Culture, and to focus on ensuring the smooth implementation of
the issues agreed upon during the fourth session held in March 2022.
