Mongolia and Belarus to Cooperate in Transport Sector

Ulaanbaatar, October 30, 2023 /MONTSAME. Munkhnasan Enkhtaivan, Director General of the Road Transport Policy Department of the Ministry of Road and Transport Development of Mongolia, signed a working group protocol with Anton Aleksandrov, Deputy Head of the Department of Automobile and Urban Passenger Transport of the Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Belarus on October 27, 2023.  


At the Meeting, the two sides agreed to increase transportation, discussed the use of permits for international road carriers, and reached an agreement on the number of permits for transportation in 2024. Mongolia signed the "Intergovernmental Agreement on International Road Transport Relations" with the Republic of Belarus in 2003, and a total of 1,067 vehicles had entered Mongolia from Belarus by October 24, 2023.


In 2015, as part of a Cooperation Agreement between Mongolia and Belarus, 20 high-capacity MAZ buses were delivered to Ulaanbaatar for use in mass public transportation. Previously, Belarus had supplied 42 units of road repair equipment to Mongolia.


Mongolia and Belarus have been maintaining friendly relations since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries in 1992.
