“Burte Chono 2024” Mongolia’s Top Sports Awards Ceremony Set for December 19

Ulaanbaatar, November 21, 2024 /MONTSAME/. The “Burte Chono 2024” Sports Awards Ceremony to select the best of the best in sports for the year is set to take place on December 19, 2024. 


The Burte Chono Awards Ceremony has been organized annually by the Mongolian National Olympic Committee since 2003. The first Burte Chono Trophy was awarded to Honored Athlete of Mongolia Purevbaatar Oyunbileg.  


The Burte Chono Awards Ceremony recognizes the best in the sports industry with over 20 nominations, including the Best Athlete of the Year, Best Male and Female Athletes, Best Young Athlete, Best Coach, Best Referee, and Best Sports Federation. The selection of the Best Athlete, Team, and Young Athlete is traditionally based on votes cast by sports journalists. The list of nominees and the voting period will be announced early next month. 


Notably, Otgonbold Baatarkhuyag, a Mongolian archer and Asian Games Champion, was named the winner of the “Burte Chono 2023” Best Athlete award and the traveling trophy.
