Olympic champion N.Tuvshinbayar to debut in politics
PoliticsUlaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Democratic Party’s (DP) committee in Bayankhongor aimag has nominated State Honored Sportsman and Olympic champion N.Tuvshinbayar, incumbent MPs Kh.Battulga and D.Ganbat for the 2016 parliamentary elections.
The athlete from Bulgan aimag N.Tuvshinbayar will run for office from the constituency of Bayankhongor aimag, not from his birthplace for being outrun by DP member O.Amartuvshin who is set to compete in single-mandate Bulgan aimag.
Political debut will not interrupt his training rhythm for the forthcoming Olympics, claims the Olympic champion because the election campaign will last for only 18 days.
“This is my third Olympic Games. I am still into sports, and find the Olympics a huge responsibility and trust placed on me. So I will try hard to justify hopes of all Mongolians” he said.
