Student police start their activities

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The National Police Agency, Ulaanbaatar Tourism Department and Students' Union of Mongolia launched ‘Tourist friendly campaign-2017’ yesterday, June 8. Some 30 students with English language knowledge selected from 125 students of universities and institutes were trained on tourist safety and security, city tour, historical and cultural sightseeing and have started to work as student police and tourist guide, establishing a labor contract with the Police Department of Ulaanbaatar.
Student police will go on patrol at tourist attraction sites and streets, help tourists and people to prevent from crime and attack and get to know the capital or find their way. They will be focusing on cultural events, such as National Naadam Festival and ‘Ulaanbaatar Nightlight’ street. The campaign will run till August. The fact shows that thanks to student police, tourist related offence decreased by 30 per cent.
