Training center for state servants opens

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Opening ceremony of a new training center at the Governor’s Office of Ulaanbaatar took place on October 25 with participation of S.Batbold, Mayor of Ulaanbaatar city and Heads of the implementing agencies at the Governor’s Office.
The Training Center for Civil Servants is co-founded by the Governor’s Office of Ulaanbaatar, the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) and the Asia Foundation, and it will hold short-term courses for state servants.
In his opening speech, S.Batbold highlighted that the concept of this center will be based on principles of gaining knowledge from experiences and making the knowledge skills. He said the center’s objective is to develop the city by empowering specialists, and emphasized two important duties are imposed upon state servants to devote their skills to the city’s development and to share their knowledge with others.
Following Mayor's speech, Gabriella Spirli, Director of the SDC Cooperation Division noted the SDC is focusing attention on resolving the urbanization-caused problems, and underlined an ongoing project on upgrading the city’s governance is one of the vital projects being implemented together with the Governor’s Office of Ulaanbaatar. This project aims to maximize investments to Ulaanbaatar and to improve the services for citizens through empowering servants and officials of the city’s administrative bodies.
After the opening, S.Batbold conducted training under the theme ‘Urban Development in Mongolia’.
