Foreign Minister participates in Ministerial Meeting of Freedom Online Coalition

Ulaanbaatar/MONTSAME/. Foreign Minister Mrs B. Battsetseg
virtually participated in the 10th Anniversary Ministerial Meeting of the
Freedom Online Coalition held on December 3, 2021. In her remarks, the Foreign
Minister stated that Mongolia, as a founding member of the Coalition, is proud
to be working closely with the Member States to bring to the global stage new
visions and commitments and doing the hard work to protect and advance Internet
freedom over the past 10 years and highlighted the importance of redoubling the
efforts to effectively respond to the multiple challenges, caused mainly by the
novel COVID-19 pandemic.
She also informed that in order to develop e-Mongolia
system, the Parliament of Mongolia approved a decision to establish the
Ministry of Digital Development and the E-Mongolia Academy.
The conference adopted Helsinki Declaration for open and
accessible internet and human rights-based digitalization. The next chair of
the Coalition will be Canada.
