Mongolian Runner Wins Bronze at the Asian Marathon Championships

Ulaanbaatar, March 31, 2025 /MONTSAME/. The 20th Asian Marathon Championships took place in Jiaxing, the People's Republic of China, on March 30, 2025. At the Championships, Mongolian athlete Khishigsaikhan Galbadrakh claimed the bronze medal in the 42 km race.
The 20th Asian Marathon Championships brought together 54 marathon runners from 18 countries. In the women’s category, 20 athletes competed, with International Master of Sports Khishigsaikhan securing bronze with a time of 2:28:56. Meanwhile, in the men’s category, Honored Athlete of Mongolia Ser-Od Bat-Ochir finished in sixth place with a time of 2:15:13.
The Mongolian team, coached by B. Dorjpalam and O. Oyuntuya, participated with four athletes. It marks G. Khishigsaikhan’s second medal at the Asian Marathon Championships, as she won the gold medal last year.
Mongolian runners have previously earned two golds and one bronze medal at the Asian Marathon Championships. B. Ser-Od claimed gold in 2013 and silver in 2008, while Ts. Byambajav won bronze in 2017, and G. Khishigsaikhan secured gold in 2024.
