Türkiye - Mongolia Ties Highlighted at 102nd Republic Anniversary Reception

/MONTSAME/. In celebration of the 102nd anniversary of the
proclamation of the Republic of Türkiye,
a reception was held at the Turkish Embassy in Ulaanbaatar on October 29, 2025.
The event was inaugurated with the reading of a congratulatory message from President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, highlighting the significance of the occasion and Türkiye’s commitment to fostering international partnership.
In her opening remarks, Başak Genç Yüksel, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Türkiye to Mongolia, emphasized the longstanding and historic ties. The relationship between the peoples of Türkiye and Mongolia spans centuries, and as a third neighbor, Türkiye shares one of the oldest historical bonds with Mongolia. Building on this enduring foundation, our bilateral cooperation has grown rapidly across all sectors in recent years.”
Ambassador Yüksel addressed that President of Mongolia Khurelsukh Ukhnaa paid a State Visit to Türkiye in January 2025, during which 11 official documents were signed – including the Declaration of Strategic Partnership – marking a pivotal moment in bilateral relations.
“We are pleased to witness the growing momentum of high-level exchanges and deepening cooperation. Our efforts are focused on expanding relations across all sectors, especially in the economy and trade. Over the past decade, bilateral trade turnover has quadrupled, exceeding USD 130 million last year,” she added.
Looking ahead, Ambassador Yüksel conveyed optimism about the future of Türkiye–Mongolia relations, affirming the effort to elevate bilateral trade to reflect the full potential of the two countries. Cooperation in education, culture, history, and archaeology continues to advance, with expectations of a strong partnership. The ambassador concluded her remarks with a heartfelt message: “May the friendship, cooperation, and solidarity between Türkiye and Mongolia flourish.”
Among the distinguished guests was the Minister of Defence of Mongolia, Batlut Damba, who attended the reception alongside other official representatives, underscoring the strengthened bilateral relations between Mongolia and Türkiye.
