EconomyUlaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ In January of this year, 1,691.0 thousand tons of freight and 217.6 thousand passengers (duplicated counting) were carried by railway transport.
In the period, the number of carried freight increased by 79.4 thousand tons or 4.9%, whereas the number of carried passengers decreased by 35.6 thousand people or 14.1% against the previous year.
The revenue from railway transport in January 2016 reached MNT 32.8 billion, reflecting an increase of MNT 1.6 billion or 5.0% against the previous year.
In January 2016, 212.9 tons of freight and 46.5 thousand passengers (duplicated counting) were carried by air transport. Compared to same period of the previous year, the number of carried freight decreased by 3.9 tons or 1.8% and the number of carried passengers decreased by 1.2 thousand people or 2.6%.
The revenue from air transport reached MNT 18.7 billion, increasing by MNT 0.8 billion or 4.4% against the previous year.
