The First Session of the Citizens’ Representative Khural Held

Ulaanbaatar, October 15, 2024 /MONTSAME/. The first session of the newly formed Citizens’ Representative Khural of Ulaanbaatar City was held on October 14, 2024, with the attendance of 45 representatives elected with the highest number of votes at the 2024 Election.


The session was chaired by representative Batsaikhan Gombosuren. At the beginning of the session, Chairman of the Election Commission of the Capital City Khadbaatar Pagmajav presented the election results and the confirmation of the representatives’ mandates. Mr. Khadbaatar Pagmajav underscored, “15 political parties and one coalition submitted applications for the 2024 Elections of the Citizens’ Representative Khural of the Capital City, of which, 10 parties and one coalition were accepted. Of 276 candidates registered, 36.2 percent, or 100 were female. Moreover, the Mongolian People’s Party (MPP) had 45 candidates, Democratic Party (DP) 44, National Coalition 26, Civil Will Green Party 45, Freedom Implementing Party 1, Civil Movement Party 6, National Labor Party (HUN) 44, Truth and Right 14, People’s Majority Governance Party 18, Civil Unity Party 25, Good Democratic Citizens United Party 8.”


Governor of the Capital City and Mayor of Ulaanbaatar Nyambaatar Khishgee noted, “The Capital city of Mongolia is facing some pressing challenges such as air pollution and traffic congestion as Ulaanbaatar has expanded its settlement sixfold and the population has tripled since 1992. To resolve these issues, the Action Program for 2024-2028 of the Governor of the Capital City, which reflects the city's development policies and plans, will be presented to and approved by the Citizens' Representative Khural." 

During the session, A. Bayar was selected as the Chairman of the Citizens’ Representative Khural of Ulaanbaatar City.
