Seventh International Conference “Cultural Heritage of the Mongols: Collection of Manuscripts and Archival Documents” Held in St. Petersburg

Ulaanbaatar, April 24, 2025 /MONTSAME/. Under the auspices of the President of Mongolia, the 7th International Conference “Cultural Heritage of the Mongols: Collection of Manuscripts and Archival Documents” was held in St. Petersburg, the Russian Federation, on April 19-22, 2025.
The International Conference has been regularly organized every two years since 2013 among the global field of Mongol studies. The presentations and many interesting and important documents of the Conference are regularly published.
At the Conference, researchers from each institution delivered presentations in their respective fields. Participants from major Mongol studies centers in Moscow, Ulan-Ude, Kazan, Irkutsk, and Elista of the Russian Federation, the National Library of Mongolia, the Choijin Lama Temple Museum, the Chinggis Khaan National Museum, the Bogd Khaan Palace Museum, the Zanabazar Museum of Fine Arts, the Erdene Zuu Museum, the Teacher’s College, the Kharkhorum Museum, and the Institute of History and Ethnology, as well as Mongol studies centers in the People’s Republic of China, attended the Conference.
Among the Russian scholars, T.D. Skrynnikov gave a presentation on “The Meaning of the Word 'Mong' in The Secret History of the Mongols,” A.V. Popova presented on “Destiny and Heritage,” and G.I. Borovka’s paper titled “The Hermitage Collection from Excavations in the Tuul River Valley” garnered particular interest.
