Scholars Present Research on 80th Anniversary of Victory in the Liberation War

Ulaanbaatar, August 25, 2025 /MONTSAME/. On the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Liberation War, the Defense Research Institute organized the International Scientific Conference “The End of World War II: Historical Studies on the Liberation War” in Ulaanbaatar on August 21, 2025.
Scholars from 11 institutions, including the Defense Research Institute, the Institute of History and Ethnology of the Mongolian Academy of Sciences, and the Border Studies Institute of the General Authority for Border Protection, delivered presentations. Six researchers from the Russian Federation, the People’s Republic of China, the Republic of Korea, and Japan also presented findings of their studies.
Seventeen scholars from four countries discussed topics such as “The End of World War II: In the Far East,” “The Soviet–Mongolian Joint Strategic Offensive in Manchuria,” and “The Combat Role of the Mongolian People’s Army.” This conference has brought research on the Liberation War into circulation and enriched history with new evidence compiled from diverse sources.
In addition, the event aims at strengthening cooperation and mutual understanding among neighboring countries, honoring the veterans who fought in the war, and fostering patriotic and national values among citizens and the public.
