Social Insurance Fund Income Increases by 15.9 Percent in First Nine Months

Ulaanbaatar, November 17, 2025 /MONTSAME/. According to the General Authority for Social Insurance of Mongolia, revenue collected by the Social Insurance Fund reached MNT 4.85 trillion in the first nine months of this year, an increase of 15.9 percent, or MNT 666.4 billion, compared to the same period in 2024.


The National Statistics Office of Mongolia reported that this growth was driven mainly by a 14.2 percent rise (MNT 515.7 billion) in the Pension Insurance Fund’s revenue and a 24.4 percent rise (MNT 66.9 billion) in the Benefits Insurance Fund’s revenue.


During the same period, expenditures of the Social Insurance Fund amounted to MNT 4.38 trillion, up 16.5 percent or MNT 620 billion year-on-year. Spending increased as expenditures from the Pension Insurance Fund rose 15.7 percent (MNT 540 billion) and those from the Benefits Insurance Fund climbed 20.8 percent (MNT 37.8 billion).


In the first nine months of 2025, the Pension Insurance Fund provided MNT 4.02 trillion in pension payments to 520,400 people, reflecting a 2.5 percent (12,600 people) increase in the number of pensioners and a 15.6 percent (MNT 541.5 billion) rise in total pension payments compared to the previous year. The Benefits Insurance Fund delivered MNT 359.9 billion in benefits to 145,900 people, an increase of 7 percent (9,600 people) in the number of recipients and 26.8 percent (MNT 76.1 billion) in total benefits issued.


As of the first nine months of 2025, 2.4 million people received social welfare services totaling MNT 1.83 trillion. Compared to the same period in 2024, the number of beneficiaries fell by 4 percent (101,400 people), while total payments for welfare pensions and benefits increased by 5.9 percent (MNT 101.1 billion).
