Ulaanbaatar, November 24, 2025 /MONTSAME/. Under the auspices of the President of Mongolia, the annual international calligraphy exhibition “Script of the Eternal Sky-2025” has opened at the Ord Art Gallery of the Mongolian Art Center for Children’s Creativity.

The international calligraphy exhibition aims to promote and present Mongolia’s intellectual heritage, culture, and traditions to younger generations and to foreign audiences. The 14th exhibition showcases more than 260 works by professional artists from Ulaanbaatar, rural areas of Mongolia, the Buryat and Kalmyk regions of the Russian Federation, the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region and Qinghai’s Upper Mongol areas of the People’s Republic of China, as well as the French Republic.

Mongolians are unique in world writing history for having used more than ten scripts, including Mongolian, Square, Ali Gali, Manchu, Runi, Tod, Soyombo, Tibetan, Horizontal Square, Vagindra, Latin, and Cyrillic. Mongolian calligraphy is a cultural heritage of the Mongolic peoples, a source of intellectual pride, and a national symbol.

This exhibition aims to protect, preserve, and pass on the heritage of the national script, inspire children and youth to learn and study it, promote the culture of Mongolian writing to the wider public, and support the talents of artists, teachers, students, and pupils. Within this framework, students who are learning the national script, teachers, along with master calligraphers, are encouraged, supported, and recognized, and their best works are showcased to the public.

A special feature of this year’s exhibition is the display of postage stamps from the collection titled “Chinggis Khaan and His Successors” by D. Dashjav, an honorary member of the Federation of Mongolian Philately.

The exhibition will be open to the public at the Ord Art Gallery of the Mongolian Qrt Center for Children’s Creativity until December 5, 2025.
