Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Concession agreements, which totaled MNT11.1 trillion, will be audited, following the recommendation by the International Monetary Fund in connection with the implementation of its Extended Fund Facility program and to define the possibilities of financing them.
On May 01, Mongolian People’s Party group in parliament discussed the realization of the law on Concession and conclusions on concession agreements made by its working group in its regular meeting. “- Our party group assigned the Government to develop and submit a bill to amend the Concession law immediately, after discussing issues related to concession agreements. We notified the Government that 'build and transfer' type concession contract should be banned. The Government will discuss the concession agreements again and suggest its proposals that which concession works should be started and which ones should be postponed” said the head of the group, MP D.Khayankyarvaa.
He also made a statement on an issue concerning the Government decision on concession agreements, which blamed the Government for establishing concession agreements with companies, which have business relations with some its Ministers . “ - Much politicized information has spread regarding the concession agreements. Current Government established only one concession agreement and the others were discussed by the previous Government. For example, there are five concession agreements to build roads with a repayment period in 2017 and the Government has postponed the repayment till 2020, improving payment conditions” said MP D.Khayankyarvaa.
