Mongolian team wins third place in Asian Draughts Championship

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Asian Draughts Championship 2017 took place in Tashkent, Uzbekistan between April 15 and 28. From among the players of over 10 countries such as China, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kuwait, Japan, Turkmenistan and Lebanon, Mongolians won 34 medals, including 13 gold, 13 silver and 8 bronze medals.
A total 24 draughts players participated from Mongolia and half of the participants were around the age of 8 to 16. By the rankings, Uzbekistan was at the first place, China was at second and Mongolia was at third.
Namely, Draughts Master P.Erkhembileg, fourth grader of School number 97 of Ulaanbaatar, won 3 gold, 1 silver and 1 bronze medals in the U11 (under 11) age range. Winning the first place in the Classic-100, Blitz-100 and Rapid-100 categories, P.Erkhembileg acquired the FMJD Master (MF) title. He also won third place in the Rapid-64 category and participated in the team tournament of U14 age range, bringing the silver medal to the team.
