State greeting ceremony for Tsagaan Sar took place

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ In the morning of the first day of the Lunar New Year of Yellow Dog, a state greeting ceremony took place in the State House on February 16.

Beginning the ceremony, President of Mongolia Kh.Battulga, Speaker of Parliament M.Enkhbold and Prime Minister U.Khurelsukh paid tribute to the Nine White Banners and greeted with each other exchanging snuffboxes at the State Ceremonial Palace. The State heads also discussed a prospect of the Year of the Dog with Khamba Lama of Gandantegchinlen Monastery and Kyabje (Gavj) D.Choijamts and Khamba Lama of Dashchoilin Monastery Ch.Dambajav. 

Following the tribute, the state and government leaders received  nine elders over 80 years of age as representative of elders and honored them. Concurrently, the State heads extended their Tsagaan Sar greetings to all Mongolians.

At the ceremony, People's Artist and State Honored Cultural Figure Ts.Tserendorj played the State Great Morin Khuur and sang traditional praise song, inviting joy and prosperity in the Year of the Yellow Dog.
