Restrictions on some businesses extended for 10 days amid pandemic surge

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. State Emergency Commission held a meeting on June 23 to review about the current state of the pandemic in Mongolia and measures to take for combating the surge in community transmission cases. 


At the meeting, following decisions were made concerning the ongoing restrictive measures in the country against the COVID-19 pandemic based on the recommendations given by professional organizations and experts. 


Fitness centers, gyms, saunas and swimming pools that are considered as higher risk public places are suspended to operate for 10 days beginning from June 25. Some restrictions will be placed on the timetable of businesses and they will be strictly required to take all preventative measures against the infections throughout their operation.


In addition, previous decision to allow all types of food production and services (restaurants, cafes, food chains, coffee shops, food courts, buffets, eateries, etc) to stay open only for take-out and delivery until the end of June 24 is also extended by 10 days further. 


The SEC has reported that no restrictions will be imposed on the movement in and out of Ulaanbaatar city and intercity passenger movement.
