Implementation of international treaties presented

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. The United
Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) in collaboration with the Office
of the High Commissioner for Human Rights, the Organization for Security and
Co-operation in Europe's (OSCE) Office for Democratic Institutions, the Office
for Human Rights is organizing Eighth Expert Forum on Criminal Justice for Central Asia in Tashkent, Uzbekistan on
November 24- 25.
The forum aims at sharing practices and information related to the issues of judicial reform, human rights,
including fair trial rights in criminal procedure, aligning national
legislation with international standards.
At
the meeting, Director of the Department of International Law and Treaty of the
Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia S.Sukhbold, representing Mongolia, presented implementation of international treaties related to criminal justice, which Mongolia joined and further measures to be carried
out in the future. He stressed
that Mongolia supports the initiative to establish an international convention
on legal aid for serious international crimes, such as crimes against humanity
and war crimes.
