Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Minister of Foreign Affairs
B.Battsetseg held a meeting with Minister for Foreign Affairs of Iceland Thórdís
Kolbrún Reykfjörd Gylfadóttir during the Munich Security Conference to discuss
bilateral cooperation.
As Mongolia and Iceland both have cold climate, small
population, short tourist season and many other similarities, the sides agreed
to cooperate in developing novel ecotourism products.
Moreover, the Mongolian side showed an interest in
introducing Iceland’s strategy for the production of power and heat from
hydropower plants, geothermal energy and other renewable sources. The Icelandic
side pledged support to increasing the number of Mongolian students in Iceland.
