Judokas to Compete in the "Top 6" Judo Tournament Announced

Ulaanbaatar, April 16, 2025 /MONTSAME/. The list of judokas set to compete in the monthly "Top 6" Judo Tournament, organized by the Mongolian Judo Association, has been announced. The Tournament will take place at M Bank Arena on April 19, 2025.  A delegation of middleweight and heavyweight judokas from South Korea, led by renowned judoka Kim Jae Bum, is set to arrive in Mongolia on April 17, 2025. The South Korean line-up includes Ahn Joon-Sung (men’s -81 kg), Kim Jae-Min (-90 kg), Chol Do Hun (-100 kg), Yang Ji Young (women’s -70 kg), Kim A Hyeon (-78 kg), and Park Saet-Byeol (+78 kg), all of whom will face Mongolia’s top judokas in an all-play-all format. The “Top 6” judo tournament, features head-to-head matches between the top six male and female athletes in each of the seven weight categories, including medalists from the national championship and current domestic ranking leaders. Entries have been submitted by prominent athletes, including Silver Medalist of World Championships Ariunbold Enkhtaivan, International Masters of Sports Yolk Kazirbyek, Kherlen Ganbold, Sod-Erdene Gunjinlkham, Erdenebayar Batzaya, Dagvasuren Nyamsuren, Serik Baltabekov, Munkhjargal Erdenekhuu, Perenleijamts Usukhbayar, Anudari Jamsran, Sosorbaram Lkhagvasuren, and Gankhaich Bold. Additionally, young judokas who have earned medals at the National, Asian, and World Youth Championships will compete in the Tournament. However, the members of the National Team of Mongolia preparing for the upcoming Asian Judo Championships will not take part in this month's “Top 6” judo tournament. The total prize fund for this Tournament is MNT 100 million. It aims at promoting judo among children and youth, maintaining athletes’ training levels, and enhancing domestic competitiveness. During the tournament, Kim Jae Bum will also conduct a judo training session for young judokas from Mongolia.
