Ulaanbaatar, December 26, 2025 /MONTSAME/. Three Mongolian athletes have secured qualification to compete in cross-country skiing at the Winter Paralympic Games, which will open on March 6, 2026, in Milan and Cortina, Italy.

Specifically, Ganbold Batmunkh and Dashdorj Tsegmid will compete in the men’s 10 km and 20 km cross-country skiing events, while Selenge Adiyamunkh will race in the sitting cross-country sprint. Ganbold is the Mongolian skier who has participated in the Winter Paralympics the most times, while Dashdorj is training to compete in the Paralympics for the second time.

Meanwhile, Selenge has become the first Mongolian woman to qualify for the Paralympics. She qualified for the Paralympics after winning a bronze medal at the Asian Cup in Japan this year.

Mongolia first took part in the Winter Paralympic Games in 2006, and a cross-country skier, Sukhbaatar Nyamaa, competed. This year will mark Mongolia’s sixth participation in the Games.
