Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Due to 5,185 disasters and accidents occurred in the first 11 months of this year, 180 people died and 175.2 thousand heads of livestock and animals were lost.

In the period, 4,346 construction fires and 157 cases of rabies were recorded. The estimated damage caused by the fires of forest amounted to MNT 35.5 billion, construction fires--MNT 11.3 billion, heavy fall of snow and severe storms--MNT 5.3 billion, heavy rain and floods--MNT 323.9 million, rabies--MNT 59.8 million and total expenditure for disasters and accidents reached MNT 691.2 million.

In the first 11 months of this year, 92 people died from drowning in rivers and lakes, 50 people died from fires of construction, 20 people--from artisanal mining and rock falls, five people--from fall mountain, three people--from a severe storms, two people from cold rain and plague, slug firearms accidents, one person each--from fires of forest, thunder, plague, slug firearms accidents.

In the period, the numbers of disasters and accidents increased by 610 compared to same period of previous year.
