Seoul Street to become a Nightlight Street

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ A working group of the city administration led by Ts.Sandui, Chairman of Citizens’ Representative Khural of the capital city worked in several areas including 8th Khoroo of Sukhbaatar district, Amar Street and 2nd Khoroo of Bayangol district on June 3, Saturday.
This year, the capital administration plans to plant perennial trees in the city, and 2000 trees have been planted in certain areas. Experts say that air pollution in Ulaanbaatar can be reduced by 30-50 percent if perennials are grown along Ikh Toiruu and Baga Toiruu. T.Gantumur, General Manager of Ulaanbaatar said, “We will plant about 2000 conifers every year from now on, and we see that air pollution will be reduced to a certain extent after we’ve planted 8-10 thousand trees”.
The officials also visited Seoul Street which is projected to be turned to a Nightlight Street. In frames of the project, installation of LED display and seats, restoration of green space and lighting of pavements and road have begun on the street.
Ts.Sandui, Chairman of Citizens’ Representative Khural told journalists that all the refurbishment works will be completed before national Naadam festival. He also expressed at satisfaction at the works which are nearly complete. “We are executing this Nightlight street project for the young people of Ulaanbaatar”, he said.
