Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ A fire broke out at the main factory of Mongolia's cashmere product manufacturer “Gobi” JSC, burning down the roof of entire factory complex last night. Authorities initially received the call at 10.45PM and National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) reacted immediately, deploying all available units.

According to D.Erdenebaatar, Deputy Director of NEMA, a total of 158 firefighters of eleven NEMA units, with the assistance of Ulaanbaatar Railway Station, Water Supply and Sewerage Authority and City Maintenance Authority, have battled the blaze for 10 hours straight and tackled the fire this morning at 7AM .

Due to the flammable materials in the roof tiles, such as fiberglass insulation, black paper and wood, fire spread at unusual speed. However, the firefighters successfully secured the raw materials, products and industrial technologies out of the blazing building, bringing the loss to a bare minimum level.

Although the fire didn’t reach the insides of the facility and only set ablaze the roof, the company’s stock value fell down to MNT 11,710 from 13770, by 14.96 percent today. The cause of the fire is under investigation, however, police and experts are inspecting on the scene and the full details of what caused the fire will be revealed after 14 days.
