Mongolian powerlifters leave for Moscow

The Mongolian powerlifting team has headed to the Russian Federation to participate in the World Championships of powerlifting without equipment with the use of knee wraps, bench press and deadlift on WRPF version, which will be held in Moscow between 15 and 20 November 2016.

The Mongolian team comprises Sh.Ariunbaatar /90 kg/, an International master of sports in the category for adults; T.Amarzaya, the International Master of sports in the same category; Sh.Altanbagana, the Int’l Master of sports in the category /100 kg/ B.Gansukh, the Int’l master of sports in the category /110 kg/. Other our athlete Z.Munkh-Erdene, the Master of Sports will compete in the weight Master-1 category /100 kg/, and young powerlifter M.Luvsandanzan /82.5 kg/ —in the weight category among youths. 

The Center for Investigative journalists to open in Mongolia

The 1st forum of Mongolian investigative journalists was successfully held on Friday in Ulaanbaatar. This event was organized by the Press Institute of Mongolia in cooperation with the Mongolian Television Association. The investigative journalists who agreed to fight against the oligarchs and to expose social injustice decided to open the Center for Investigative journalists in UB.

Around 350 journalists, including top investigative reporters, data journalists and media law and security experts from 52 countries around the world took part in the Global Investigative Journalism Conference which was held on September 23-25 in Katmandu, Nepal.

UB hosts the cyclists’ parade

In the scope of the World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims, the Union of Mongolian Youth in association with the Mongolian traffic police organized a cyclists’ parade on November 13.

Their journey started on the Central square of Ulaanbaatar and finished at western crossroad of Ulaanbaatar. The cyclists promoted the raise of public awareness of traffic accidents, and the emergency responses.

The Mongolian sambist wins 2016 World Sambo Championships

Ch.Maral-Erdene, an International Master of sports grabbed a gold medal in the men’s category of 52 kg at  the 2016 World Sambo Championships which was held from 10th to 14th of November in Sofia, Bulgaria.

Another master of sports N.Togtokhbayar won a bronze medal in the men’s professional combat sambo of /57kg/

The archival documents and historical photos of Mongolia and Russia

On the occasion of the 95th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between Mongolia and Russia, an exhibition was staged for displaying archival documents and historical photos featuring the history of bilateral relations between both foreign ministries.

A wide spectrum of archival documents were available ranging from the first agreement between Mongolia and Russia which was established on November 5, 1921, historical photos of Mongolian delegation of the People’s Government having visited the Kremlin in the year of 1925, the intergovernmental agreement on cooperation and mutual assistance of 1936, the letter written by leader Khorloogin Choibalsan with heartfelt words about the gifts sent by the Mongolian people to the Soviet Red Army.
