Meeting Corner Featuring Nomadic Culture Opens at UN Conference Centre in Bangkok

Ulaanbaatar, April 23, 2024 /MONTSAME/.  Foreign Minister of Mongolia Battsetseg Batmunkh is participating in the 80th Session of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP) in Bangkok, Thailand. On April 23, 2024, Foreign Minister Battetseg opened the Mongolian meeting corner initiated by the Embassy of Mongolia in Thailand to promote Mongolia and display the nomadic heritage and culture at the United Nations Conference Centre.


Foreign Minister Battsetseg Batmunkh, Executive Secretary of the Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific Armida Salsiah Alisjahbana delivered remarks at the Opening Ceremony. Distinguished guests and representatives of the 80th Session participated in the Ceremony.


At the UN Conference Centre in Bangkok, Thailand, it was remarkable to see, for the first time, a meeting corner that melds modern aesthetics with the heritage and patterns of nomadic culture, including Mongolian ger designs. This corner prioritizes sustainability and utilizes renewable energy sources.


The United Nations Conference Centre in Bangkok is a hub for international cooperation, hosting around 3,000 meetings, conferences, and events annually. The regional headquarters for the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP) and over 30 other affiliated and international organizations are in Bangkok.
