Letter of Intent Signed between the Civil Aviation Authority of Mongolia and the Transportation Security Administration of the United States

Ulaanbaatar, July 25, 2024 /MONTSAME/. State Secretary of the Ministry of Road and Transport of Mongolia Batbold Sandagdorj and Deputy Administrator of the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) of the United States Holly E. Canevari signed a Letter of Intent (LOI) on July 22, 2024. 


The LOI aims at improving the security of the civil aviation industry of Mongolia, training its personnel, and starting direct flights to the United States. This will open new possibilities for the aviation industry of Mongolia and drive the integration of high standards of flight security from the United States to Mongolia. 


The parties will continue to cooperate in making the necessary preparations to start direct flights in a short period, with further collaboration to ensure the safety and security of international flights.


The cooperation between the Civil Aviation Authority of Mongolia and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) of the United States will help Mongolia meet the requirements and standards set by the FAA.


The signing of the LOI is part of the Comprehensive Strategic Dialogue between Mongolia and the United States and will be a significant step in elevating the relations between the two countries. The direct flight will be an important part of the Strategic Third Neighbor Partnership between Mongolia and the U.S. and contribute to advancing the economic and tourism cooperation, and cultural exchanges, reported the Civil Aviation Authority of Mongolia.
