Mongolia Seeks Opportunities to Expand Teacher and Student Training in Australia

Ulaanbaatar, August 5, 2025 /MONTSAME/. Minister of Education and Science of Mongolia Naranbayar Purevsuren received Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Commonwealth of Australia to Mongolia Leo Zeng on August 4, 2025, reported the Ministry of Education and Science.


During the meeting, Minister Naranbayar presented Mongolia’s ongoing efforts to study international practices on child protection in digital environments and to draft relevant legislation. Minister Naranbayar expressed interest in examining the “Online Safety Act,” implemented in the Commonwealth of Australia, including its revision, regulatory system, standards, and training methodologies.


Minister Naranbayar also expressed gratitude, noting that over 700 Mongolian citizens have studied in the Commonwealth of Australia through the Australian Awards scholarship programs since 1993, with the number increasing annually. Minister Naranbayar emphasized Mongolia’s interest in expanding opportunities for more teachers and students to pursue studies and professional development in the Commonwealth of Australia.


Ambassador Leo Zeng expressed readiness to strengthen bilateral cooperation in the field of education. The two sides exchanged views on current and future cooperation in the education sector between the two countries.
