Art & Culture
Ulaanbaatar, October 8, 2025 /MONTSAME/. Two Mongolian filmmakers have been selected to participate in the "Next Masters Support Program", a continuation of the Talents Tokyo initiative aimed at nurturing the future masters of Asian cinema.
Launched
in 2010, the program provides two types of funding to support the development
of new film projects. This year, Mongolian directors Zoljargal
Purevdash with her project “Sane Mother”, and Lkhagvadulam Purev-Ochir with “The
Vision of Lonely Mountains”, were awarded grants through the Project Development Fund. Up to JPY 1.5
million in funding is available for selected participants through two support
programs: the Project Development Fund and the International Promotion Fund.
In
addition to funding, recipients gain access to a series of lectures and
consultations from leading professionals in the film industry. They also
present their projects, expanding collaboration opportunities with
international filmmakers.
The
program is designed to support and empower emerging Asian directors and
producers by fostering professional networks, encouraging creative exchange,
and providing visibility for their works on the global stage. It also aims to
help participants promote their films internationally and lay the groundwork
for future participation in major film festivals.
