Every foreign tourist spends 1174 dollars in Mongolia
VideoThe Bank of Mongolia in cooperation with National Tourism Center have carried out a survey in order to determine the amount of money that is being spent by foreign visitors in Mongolia.
It was a sample survey among 1233 tourists who came to our country in June and July 2015 or at the height of the tourist season. If you distribute tourists by country, visitors from South Korea occupy 22 per cent of all foreign tourists, tourists from China-17 per cent, Russians – 17 per cent, Americans and Canadians – 6 per cent respectively.
While 51 percent of those surveyed said that they had arranged their vacations by themselves, others say that they have chosen Mongolian tour operators.
According to the survey, free travelers spend 1526 dollars while tourists who rely on travel agents spend 2383 dollars within two weeks of travel in Mongolia.
They spend 30 per cent of money on accommodation, 24 per cent – on eating at restaurants while 20 per cent of their money was spent on buying goods. The rest of the money goes to pay for transport.
