Transport sector revenue increases
EconomyUlaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ In February 2016, 2,826.4 thousand tons of freight and 424.5 thousand passengers (double counting) were carried by railway transport. Compared to same period of the previous year, the number of carried freight increased by 68.7 thousand tons or 2.5 percent and the number of carried passengers decreased by 59.6 thousand or 12.3 percent.
The revenue from railway transport in February reached 56.1 billion MNT, reflecting increase of 4.6 billion MNT or 8.9 percent compared to the same period of last year.
Last month, 387.9 tons of freight and 84.9 thousand passengers (double counting) were carried by air transport. The carried freight decreased by 23.5 tons or 5.7 percent and the number of carried passengers increased by 0.3 thousand or 0.3 percent compared to same period of the previous year.
The revenue from air transport reached 35.1 billion MNT and has increased by 2.1 billion MNT or 6.5 percent compared to same period of the previous year
